About
Watch out… country folk have discovered the internet.
I am actually surprised by the amount of people out there who have dedicated a chunk of webspace to discussing life in the south, so in that respect I really don’t think my blog is going to be anything ground-breaking. However, I think this is a subject I’m well qualified to discuss. Not only have I lived in the south my whole life (minus one year which I refer to as “the dark times”), I’m full of opinions and have a constantly running dialogue in my head. I think it’s about time those thoughts had a place to rest.
Here I’m going to be sharing my ruminations on life in Atlanta and southern culture in general. I have been blessed with two X chromosomes, so some things will be from a purely female point of view.
Things you’ll probably see: Scenic photos from trips, stories about things I or my friends have done, southern pearls of wisdom, Atlanta-specific humor, book/movie reviews, amusing regional news stories, random observations, unique recipes likely involving a FryDaddy, and possibly some drunk posts.
Things you’ll probably NOT see: Nudity (sorry y’all) and soapboxing of the political variety. Of course politics do play a big part in southern culture, so I may write something about the funny things zealots on both sides do. Same with religion… I’m an equal opportunity offender.
Speaking of offending folks– there is no pretension here; I am not a dainty southern belle. I have a potty mouth. If four-letter words send you running for the smelling salts, you might wanna click that little ol’ back button in your intertubes browsing device.
Otherwise… sit back, grab a glass of sweet tea, and enjoy!
