And your Grandmother continued to practice this "sport" until she got pregnant with me, so she was still at it in her mid 20's.

You can stretch that middle toe on the Vibram shoes! They will even tell you how to do it! All you have to do is heat it up a little and pull on the rubber. A friend of mine has them and has the same issue as you. He says that he thinks there is even a link on the website on how to do it!

i prefer "jiffy store feet" to "trailer park feet" - after all the kids that hang out around the jiffy store because they're embarrassed of living in the trailer park. some people also call morton's toe, evolution feet, meaning that you haven't evovlved as much or something like that.

i think your answer to all this is jj casuals - http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/eb7b6a847b/jj-casuals

oh, and you have totally cute feet - sorry your mom had to witness some anonymous guy creeping on your feet

Um, it's not socially acceptable to go barefoot in public? Hiking and hunting broke me of that habit, simply because there's just too much to watch out for when beating brush. Star thistle is not something you want anywhere, much less between your toes. (Yummy honey, though.) And public transit drove the final stake through that sparkling habit...

Your toes look just like mine, so I guess you can genetically blame me. Just wish my feet stayed warm enough not to have to wear shoes and socks.

Hee! I feel like my entire post could have been summed up as: "I wish Atlanta wasn't so hot or had so many hills!" And yes waiter, I would like some cheese with my whine.

I just recently moved back into civilization; being homeless and living for free due to the generosity of my friends, I figure I can't be too picky right now-- but as soon as I'm gainfully employed again, I want to live closer to midtown. I've recently fallen in love with Inman Park, aside from all the damn hills. LOL

I had a love/hate relationship with this post. On the one hand, it was *hilarious* and reflected many grains of truth, especially in this heat wave. On the other hand, I do roll up to brunch wearing a sundress and sandals, feeling pretty cute (I may be deluding myself, but still...) Yes, I'm sweating like a sprinkler, but I just wear wash and dry materials and it all works out. I try to get there a few minutes early to dry out. And I can eat as many pancakes as I want!

My family has been car-free since Jan of this year, and it's actually been easier than we expected, mostly because of where we've chosen to live. ITP, about 4 miles from our jobs downtown. Southwest Atlanta because it's the most affordable (read - cheapest) area close to downtown and MARTA accessible.

Yes, there are some issues with crime, but I lived there for 10 years now and not been a victim once. Big dogs and pepper spray, plus getting to know my neighbors and those on my bike commute home, have all played a role.

Anyway, I hope you stick it out, join the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, and meet other people who are trying to do what you are. It's nicer together, even when we're riding alone :-)
